What do students usually do outside of campus and Easton PA?
Easton is an amazing college town. The community is very involved with the campus. While there are no big nightclubs nearby, Easton is still so fun. For parties, students stay close to campus and if they can, go to bars nearby. However, on the weekend mornings and afternoons, we often go down to the Farmer’s Market (look it up if you haven’t heard about it- it is the oldest in the nation!) and eat at the Public Market (this is different from the Farmer’s, this is all year-round and indoors, with various delicious places to eat). There are festivals throughout the year, including Bacon Fest and Garlic Fest (my favorite!). There are great little shops around, too. We take part in a lot of town events as well.
There are also plenty of restaurants and (when 21) bars around campus and down the hill. The school shuttle takes people off campus to some places like Wal-Mart and movie theaters and my D occasionally went to a mall in Bethlehem to shop .On a nice day my D occasionally went walking with friends along the Delaware River which looked lovely from the photos I saw. She also saw a live show at a theater in Easton.
There’s seems to be so much more to do off campus than when I was a student, and we were never bored. The last time I was there, about a year ago, I noticed how much Easton has grown in a positive way.
My daughter is only a freshman and so far went to NYC for a concert, has eaten out with friends at many restaurants in town, has gone to parties a few times at Lehgh and also gone to a theater piece off campus. Plus all the places mentioned above. Plus so much to do on campus- she is never bored
