A lot of 1 star reviews, people complaining about McGill. How accurate would you say some of their claims are? Think this is at all indicative of how many students are unhappy with their time at McGill?

Harvard University on that site has an average user score of 2.82. University of Michigan has a 2.53. Tufts has a 2.48. Georgetown: 2.52, John Hopkins: 2.71. In fact, every Ivy League or renowned university I can find has a score averaging below a 3.

McGill, on the other hand, has a 3.23.

That should tell you something about McGill, if not the reliability of the site.

lol yea those kinda sites just like ratemyteacher.com are sooo unreliable statistically speaking because theres a great amount of response bias since ur pretty much only getting extreme answers

First of all, McGill averaged 3.23 on the stars. I searched for Harvard University on the site: 2.82 stars and University of Southern California: 2.49 stars. According to the site, McGill is better than Harvard!!!

Sites like that tend to attract a lot of bitter, possibly failing, students. I’d also suspect than many are not even McGill students (or students at Harvard or USC rating those schools). Some may have been applicants who were rejected by McGill. Search your favorite university on that site and see how it rates.

Western’s fabled Ivey School of Business rated 3.20 stars!

I will not attempt to refute any of the negatives other than that one rater gave McGill one star because it is cold in Montreal! Gee, you think?

That site is quite similar to this one in that it is wholly based on the opinions of a select few who chose to participate. However, the difference is that here we have discussions about the validity of each others comments. Just as rankings should be taken with a grain of salt, so should evaluations such as these. The best ways to find out about a school are to A) Visit and B) Speak to someone who has attended. Feel free to participate.
