Hello, I know this is a dumb question but it has been bugging me for a while...I would really appreciate if anyone could give me some feedback... thank you in advance!
I applied to biosciences phd programs at the last minute. So although I mailed the supplementary materials before the deadline, I submitted the electronic apps on the day of the deadline (my fault, I suck...). After a week I checked the application status, none of the supplementary materials matched up with my app, so my app status is currently submitted but incomplete (passed the deadline already). Does it mean my apps will not be reviewed? Or am I in a really bad situation? Thank you!

Are you applying to JHU by any chance? If so, same deal with me, lol

No, I didn't apply to JHU. The schools with Dec 1st deadline I applied are UChicago, Princeton and Columbia. I really hope they still process my apps...even though I did my SOP at the last minute, I did put in a lot of effort... :(

Some schools require all application materials to be in by a certain deadline (e.g. Stanford), but others will give you leeway. Most of the schools are not very quick with updating your profile because of the large volume of materials at this time. When I submitted all my materials early Nov, it still took 2 weeks for all of my material to be marked received, and Princeton and Columbia are among them. I also applied to JHU, and found them to be pretty quick with it. Just keep checking your applyyourself account.

crap. i didn't even think about that. i just thought that as long as i submitted by the deadline, i was OK

Same here. Now I am obsessively checking the online status like every 2 minutes. and my email every 5 seconds. :). as if admissions were based on how frequently you checked your email.

Tell me about it... the anxiety of waiting is distracting me from research. :'(

All this checking better not end up in rejections across the board :''''(

You are okay -- it's a submission deadline. But that doesn't mean that your application will be put together and given to the application readers immediately.

As long as you completed your end (mailing and online submission) by the deadline, it doesn't matter when the administrative staff wade through the mail and match up your application components.
