Subject Test Scores

Hey, I was wondering what subject test score ranges would be good (albeit not perfect) for the College, SEAS, and Wharton. I took a few different subject tests and did okay, and I'm not sure what I want to do in college or what I want to work as, so I want to see what I'm competitive for.

SAT I: 740 Math, 760 Writing, 770 CR
SAT II: 720 Chem, 730 Math 2, 750 Literature, 760 Physics

I was told that this was more than good enough to make the cut for the college, and somewhat competitive for SEAS, but not really good enough for a strong shot at Wharton.

I'm hoping that my EC's and essays are good enough to give me a shot wherever, too.

I suppose if I really became interested in something in college, I could apply for an internal transfer?

Remember that test scores aren’t going to make or break your application. For all three schools you mentioned, your scores are very high. What is great about you is that you have scores in every single test you took in a bunch of different subjects. Admission counselors will definitely make note of that.

Overall though, from all the information sessions I have attended at UPenn I have found out that Penn admissions counselors are not too crazy about SAT scores. For example, one counselor, when ranking the importance of each part of the application, put test scores towards the bottom. They serve more to validate your academic achievements than anything else.

Your scores are well above average. If you have a good transcript, essays, recommendations, and extra curriculars, you will definitely be a strong candidate for any of those schools.

Good luck!
