SAT Subject TEst Scores For Penn

Hello, I took the SAT subject tests today and am expecting around a 770 in Chemistry and around a 730 in US History. Do you guys think that these scores are good for Penn? (Just these scores alone i mean)

I’m just a high school student too, but I’m sure someone will tell you that those scores put you in the ballpark, but now it’s up to your essays, extracurriculars, etc to get you in…blah blah. You know how it goes :p

Yup. Definitely good enough. I got into the school of engineering as an Asian with a 760 in math II and a 710 in physics (not to mention a 670 in chem and 600 in Spanish).

I would say good enough at least to be waitlisted as I’m Asian, I got waitlisted, 690 Math II, 640 chem, and 540 spanish… XD

I am an Asian and I got waitlisted with 800 Math II, 880 Physics and 800 Chemistry :frowning:
good luck :)

I should add I applied to CAS…

Wait, I meant 800 up there. Also, I applied to SEAS.

I think anything in the upper 700s is considered pretty good, anything between that and 700 is good, and scores below that are not as good, except for language subject tests which I think are considerably harder. For these tests, anything above a 650 is good because it actually would get you out of the language requirement if you were to be admitted to Penn. However, subject test scores like SAT and ACT scores are just a small part of the admissions process so you should not worry too much about them if you are in the range I am referring too. I personally think test scores are way too overemphasized in the admissions process. It’s more about portraying yourself as a unique person than having a list of scores on paper.

I actually kind of liked the subject tests, so I actually took several of them, math II, chemistry, spanish, and U.S. history.
