Subject tests and UCs

I’ve searched this thread as well as the test thread and couldn’t find the answer.

I realize that subject tests are optional for most majors at most UCs. For the majors where it is not required, is there a general rule for what scores are considered good - meaning they will probably help your application vs scores that are considered low and probably shouldn’t be sent?

If someone knows of a thread where this had already been discussed, can you please send me the link? Thank you.

Usually for the colleges that require SAT subject tests, a 700+ is considered a competitive score. For the UC’s, most will state that the scores will be considered only if they benefit the applicant. Still due to the competitive nature of the UC’s, high scores are worth getting and sending.

So over 700 send to UCs, under 700 maybe not, right?

Thanks!
