**Note: US hist and Chem AP/SAT taken within 2 months of each other. Math 2 and Calc taken in diff years.

AP US Hist - 5
SAT US Hist - 800

AP Calc BC - 5
SAT Math II - 800

AP Chem - 5
SAT Chem - 720

SAT tests and AP tests can be compared in a limited way. For example, in the history tests, the AP asked mroe about specifics, while the SAT asked about egeneralizations and trends.

AP Calc and Math 2 definitely cannot be compared. There is no calc in the Math 2 section and I know many people who were great at Math 2 kind of stuff and did not do well in Calc.

The Chem SAT test was weird. It tests everyday knowledge like “what chemical is inside this thing” while the AP was more problem-based. AP was definitely more challening and required more technical knowledge. The SAT time-wise was a little tough and I think that’s what went wrong…

Someone stated earlier that they shouldn’t have taken the June SAT II, and I totally agree. I do know some areas that I could have improved on and which weren’t as highlighted on the AP exam as they were on the SAT II. And I remember some stupid mistakes that I made (nearly ran out of time, even though I finished with extra time on the AP). I’m retaking when I take my second SAT II.

I would think that the correlation is there, but not as strong as you might think. The SAT subject tests do not allow for as great a score differentiation on the actual tests as the AP tests. Meaning, a person who scores a 130/180 on an APUSH test would receive the same score (5) as a person who scored a 175/180 on the test.

Case in point: I got a 5 on Bio and 790, my friend got a 5 and 730.

As for me:

5 Bio, 790
5 APUSH, 800
no Calc, 770 Math II

I am in IB Bio HL, but I decided to take both the Subject Test and the AP Test, as did my friend. I made a 670, and 3 respectively, while she made a 640, and 4 respectively…and I did better the whole year -_- October testing here we come loll
