Does anyone know if the 2 subject tests for CAS are required, or are they just recommended? I looked online and found conflicting information.

I'm planning on taking the subject tests on October 8, which is the next available date. I'm applying ED to Cornell and they need the ED application in by November 1. Would that be too late?

Do you think they'd let me send in my application without them and then as soon as I get my scores, which would be late October/early November, send them to them?

As long as you specify that you want your scores to go to Cornell they will get them and you wouldn't need to let them know. However that doesn't mean you wouldn't want to do it. A friendly letter updating them of any accomplishments is always a plus, b/c it shows them that you are that much more interested in Cornell than the next applicant. Also you will get an Applicant Account, and they will show if they received your subject test scores, so that would also let you know if you needed to update them or not. Also on the application I believe you can specify when you will take them, so they would understand and be on the lookout for them.

I don't think you should have any worries.

As to your first question, I think they are required, and even if they weren't you should definately still take them.

nm about the 'Do I have to take them' part. I checked the website again & it said they're required for CAS, recommended for CALS. I'm going to e-mail them and ask them about it.

I'm taking up to six, but that's because I was homeschooled and need to. I think most freshman applicants usually take 3-4, but I could be wrong.
