Subject to Academic Disqualification

Hey,
I am a forth year sociology-organizational studies major. I had been trying to earn a double major in economics but am now giving up on that (I suck at economics). I was on academic probation after Fall quarter 2011. I did better in Winter and Spring 2012 quarters. In a attempt to graduate on time I took four classes at UC Davis getting two C-, one D and one F, but while doing this I was also taking Sign Language 3 at a community college, so in all 5 courses. By the time I realized it was too much of a workload it was past the drop deadline, and pass/no pass deadline. I also suffered the loss of my grandfather in early November, but he passed away in Mexico and we still have not received a death certificate or the settlement of his estate. I am freaking out that the school will kick me out. I was taking two economics classes, the two which I failed. I have already made a appointment to meet with a advisor at the deans office for letters and science, I am no longer going after an economics degree, Im only two quarters away from graduating, my GPA before this quarter was 2.48.

What can I do to…?
A) prepare for my meeting
B) not get kicked out so close to being done

and what should I expect to happen during this meeting or any meeting in general for dealing with this?

Just make it clear that you understand what you did wrong and what you will change moving forward. You will likely be granted at least another semester on academic probation.
