Submit both SAT and ACT scores?

Hi, all. I recently got back my ACT score which was a 34! I took the SAT a while back and got a 1550, however. When I submit scores later on, should I submit both or would just sending my SAT score make sense since it’s higher of the two, according to conversion charts online. Thanks in advance!

If you apply to Georgetown, you must send both because it requires all ACT, all SAT, and all SAT subject tests you have taken. Otherwise choosing the higher test in your situation would be fine, although there is no downside other than the financial cost to providing both…

SAT only. It is stronger. Why weaken your application with the weaker score?

I’d send SAT only unless it was one of the few schools that wanted to see all tests.

Both scores are outstanding, but it would be interesting to see the breakdown. If you got 36 on math on the ACT and 800 in verbal on the SAT, I see no harm in submitting both. No college is going to look at your 1550 and your 34 and think “hmmm, that 34 is weak and drags down the application.” Especially not if some sections were perfect 36s.

FWIW, my son had 790 on his SAT math, but only 31 on his ACT math. However, he scored 36 on both reading and science. For that reason, he submitted both. I definitely think both scores helped his application.
