My noncustodial parent owns a business, and I think this was indicated on my CSS profile and his noncustodial profile (either that, or that he was self-employed), and now it doesn't mention on my IDOC that I have to submit the business/farm supplement, so should I not? It would be really tough to get my dad to fill it out anyways because he lives in a different state and is in bad health, i mean it took a miracle just to fill out the noncustodial profile. There's still a link on my IDOC for the business/farm supplement, but no indication that I have to fill it out. Should I?

Don’t send them anything that they have not asked for.

The IDOC Cover Sheet for my son’s fin aid applications does not list the Business/Farm Supplement, but the instruction page does, so make sure you check the instruction page. It will provide a list of required documents. See if that list includes the Business/Farm Supplement. I think ours included it because one of the colleges my son applied to requires it, but not all do, so maybe you’ll get lucky and won’t need it!

See that’s the problem, I know some of my colleges actually require the Business/Farm Supplement if necessary, but I’m not asked for it in my instructions even though my noncustodial parent owns a business and we indicated that lol. I’m just going to assume we don’t have to send it, I mean I’m pretty sure having to do it would probably delay the submission of my documents for reasons previously explained but I guess I won’t fill it out lol.
