So I decided to apply Harvard and Princeton after the winter break had started. The college counseling office was closed until Jan 3rd, which means I can only submit the supplement and payment portion before the deadline and the school forms can only be submitted on Jan 3rd for the earliest.
Will they still consider me for admission if I submit my supplement in time but school forms two days after the Jan 1st deadline?

I don’t think you could do that bc they have to receive everything by the deadline. THAT’S JUST MY GUESS NOT 100% SURE. JUST CHECK THE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR EACH OF YOUR COLLEGE-THAT’S THE BEST WAY TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH. GOOD LUCK!

As long as you have them sent quickly after Jan 2, you will be fine. They allow some leeway in sending things such as your transcript.

You may email or call Harvard and Princeton’s admission offices to find out, someone maybe working this week. (each school’s holiday schedule is different, you can find the info on their websites)
My guess is that they may give your counselor extra few days to submit, as long as you submit your parts before deadline.

You won’t have a problem: As long as your part of the application is on time, schools know that you don’t control when your recommendations, transcripts, etc…get there and don’t penalize you if they arrive after the deadline.

Thank you all so much! so do I have to tell the admission office about this or I just have to tell my counsellor to send them as soon as possible?

No, just tell your counselor to send them asap. A few days (perhaps a week) after the deadline and you’re still going to be fine, but obviously be as close to the deadline as possible.

alright, thank you!

I’m having the same problem! But my school doesn’t start until the 9th of January, will I be ok??

I guess the best you can do is to send them ASAP, there is nothing else you can do anyways, so maybe revise the rest of your essays for colleges that are sure capable of meeting the deadline, or you can contact every single one of the college counselors you know to see if they can do anything.

I sent the college I’m applying to an email, so hopefully it goes well…

good luck!
