I want to know that if I submit them to the school, will it be there on time? On collegeboard.com it states that Barnard wants the scores by January 1st.

Also, would I be penalized if when I submit them, they receive the scores AFTER January 1st???

Oh yeah, quick question: Since I’m submitting ACT scores, I don’t need to submit subject tests, right?

i don't know how to answer your first question, i would like the answer to that as well.
buy yeah, you don't have to submit subject tests if you submit the ACT

the ACT website says that most scores are available within 8 weeks. when i took the ACT it took like 2 weeks to my scores back. it just depends. usually i think its just a few weeks as long as nothing out of the ordinary happens to slow down the process.

you could always call customer service and ask them also.

i went through the same thing with my ACTs. you have to call barnard and ask them if they will accept december 8th ACT scores. chances are they will say yes.

I applied ED without an ACT score on paper. Granted, I submitted SAT scores too, but my ACT turned out to be a lot better than my SAT score (which I didn't even know at the time, so I left that portion blank in the Common App). As soon as scores were available online, I faxed the Admissions Office a printout of my score report including a confirmation that I did have scores sent to Barnard. This just tells them that they should look out to receive scores soon. The online application tracker said they received the scores on the 30th, 15 days after the ED applications were due, so it apparently wasn't a problem. In any case, you should always call to make sure...

I emailled someone because I was worried about the December 1st SAT not reaching in time and they said it was fine, as long as I wrote that I'd taken the SAT when I sent my app in, and my test date was before Jan 1st, they'd accept the scores whenever they came in.

Definitely call to double-check but remember that the admissions office will be receiving so many materials from girls around Jan 1st that it'll take a while just to sort through everything. As they sort everything, they'll update your online application tracker. If I remember correctly from last year, even though I had everything submitted on time, it took a few weeks for it all to be received by the adcom. So I wouldn't be stressed if it's not there precisely on Jan. 1st. As long as they have everything by, say, Feb. 1st, you'll be okay. But definitely check!
