Hi, I applied ED and I have a question about first quarter grades, by the time the ED deadline comes around my schools first quarter won't end until a week or so after that, should I go ahead and send what my current grades look like now to the office of admissions or wait on it until the grades are confirmed?

We don’t generally recommend sending any temporary grades. Quarter/semester/trimester grades are preferred. If you think you can have your first quarter grades to us by Nov. 10 they should be able to be considered. You can fax them to us at 757-221-4223. Just include your W&M Application ID (sent to you in the email we send confirming receipt of your application) on the fax.

You can also email them in the body of the email to your regional dean for inclusion in your file.

My school doesn’t do quarter grades, but on my transcript it shows my first six weeks and (part of) my second six weeks grades. Considering that these are all As, will this benefit my admissions chances? It also confirms a great upward trend that started my junior year?

Any strong grades can help a student in the admission process but of course they are only one part of many.
