I'm applying to three ivies that want the IDOC information. I didn't realize that the IDOC wanted my stuff by March 1...I'm overnighting it on Monday, but does anyone know how much less aid I'll get because I'm turning it in late?

Just mail them asap. It might not affect u that much if u submitt them a few days late.

it won't be a BIG deal if they're a couple of days late. Send them ASAP Express Mail.

Sending them late will only affect one thing: Your colleges will get them late. I am in the same boat as you but only because my parents didn't finish their taxes until today. The only thing lateness can do is to delay your final financial aid plan, not decrease your aid.

Our taxes will be late to IDOC because of the complexity of our returns. I called two schools from my S's list (both Ivies, coincidentally) to ask what to do. One said that as long as the FAFSA and other form were submitted on time, they "had something to go by" and just get them in to IDOC as soon as you can. They didn't seem at all concerned. The other school said that they just use the tax forms to check later in the spring, so don't worry about it. So I sent them all a note explaining that the tax returns would be a few days late, and am not worrying about it. Especially since there's nothing we can do about it!
