I was wondering if the colleges would consider the date submitted when they are looking over the applications. Are the applicants who submit their app a month before the deadline more likely to be admitted compared with applicants who submit theirs last minute (but still before the deadline)?

Some think you get a better, less hurried read when you submit early but they are going to take the best candidates no matter when they apply.

Most (maybe all) read them "in order" so you probably get more attention and a better read when you are at the beginning of the pile, rather than at the end. Im sure the last one stands out..put not in a good way.

well, i don't think colleges have made any decisions yet have they?

I heard that it does help in that they do read it from who comes in first but i'm sure if a really good candidate comes in a minute before the deadline, they still have a better chance than the less qualified candidate that came in three months ago.

I'm just one case, but don't feel too bad if you're submitting late. I sent in my Yale early action online application in late at night on the deadline date, and I was accepted. I think your application matters more than when you send it in.

I am sure they just stress turning it in early and make it seem like earlier is a lot better only because thousands of applications on the due date is overwhelming for them and they are convincing applicants to lighten the final load.

^ Yeap, it helps them out. But if you didn't submit it last minute, don't sweat it.
