Submitting SAT Subject Test scores after submitting Common App?

So I accidentally submitted the Common App application to a college that requires I take the SAT Subject tests. I am taking them in November, can I just send the scores to the college from Collegeboard? Or do I need to create a new version of the Common App and resubmit it?

It doesn’t matter which one you send in first. They are smart enough to link all of your information together.

So it doesn’t matter if the “AP/IB/SAT Subject Tests” section under Academics doesn’t have my Subject Test scores? I know the colleges will get them through CollegeBoard if I submit them that work, I just wanted to make sure it would work out.

i think you should just email them and tell them you’ll be sending in the scores that you forgot to mention on the apps… then send them through collegeboard. That should do it, dont go with the whole resubmitting the commonapp, that is going overboard

The way I read the Common Application is that the academics section is self-reported and does not take the place of your official records. When I read the FAQs, I got the impression that you do not have to fill out this section at all. The schools will always double check with the official records so it doesn’t matter if you list your scores here or not. My daughter is applying to a lot of SAT optional schools, so she left this blank, though she will probably go back and fill it in when she is ready to apply to schools that require scores.

You could send in your information - teachers’ rec, transcript, SAT, common application, art supplement - in any order you want. They create a folder and a record (in their system) as soon as something is sent. As someone stated, what you put down as your SAT score is not official until they receive it from the Collegeboard. You are not allowed to re-submit your common application multiple times anyway, or people would use it as a way to re-write their essays.

Adcoms are very busy now, I would suggest if you don’t email them about every little thing. You may want to contact them over something more important later.

Actually, you can change your common application after you have submitted it to one school. You can change it and submit it to your other schools. I don’t think you could submit it again to the same school, but you could, and should, correct any mistakes and send them by mail to the school.
