Okay so I am about to submit my CommonApp. However, I have a bit of a dilemma with reporting test scores.

I am using my three ACT scores to satisfy the testing requirement for all of my colleges. However, a few of my colleges require two SATII scores to be sent in no matter what. I have already arranged for the correct scores to be sent to the correct colleges through official reports.

However, on the Academics section of the CommonApp, I'm not sure whether I should report my SATIIs or not. If I don't, then those colleges that require them will not see them here (only through the official report). If I do, even those colleges that I am not sending an official report to will see them.

I'm worried that if I do self-report the SATIIs, some of the colleges that do not allow Score Choice (i.e. Yale) will consider them and/or expect official reports of all my SATs (two SATIs, three SATIIs), which will be bad since I am not sending them.

What should I do here? Really appreciate the help.

Also, my counselor submitted a score report for my SATIs to all my schools without my permission, when I only wanted the ACT sent. Even though it is an “official” score report through the school, it is not the official report from the testing agency that most schools desire. Will my colleges disregard these SATIs then, since they didn’t come from the testing agency?

Should I just leave the SATIIs off the CommonApp since the colleges that ask for them will get official reports from them anyway?

Please help guys I really need it soon! Thanks!

The CommonApp says if I do that then I will have to re-upload my documents. If this is the case, will the school forms have to be re-uploaded too? If so, I won’t be able to do that unfortunately.

I think you will be okay, just create the second version and check to see if your forms are there. Mine still are, but they were already downloaded by the school before I created the second version

Almost. I just don’t want to submit it if I don’t know if the forms will carry over because if they don’t then I’ll be stuck with the version I submit (w/ or w/o test scores).

If your app is done, it doesn’t matter if your first version has your subject scores or not. If it does, submit it to one of the schools that requires them, then create your second version and take the scores out. Or submit your first version without the scores to a school that doesn’t require them and then in your second version, add them in.

oh, i see. I think the forms do carry over. I am not sure because my school adds them in. I only had to re-upload my essay and maybe my EC short answer but the school forms transferred without me doing anything

Well see, if I submit it and the alternate version doesn’t carry over my school forms, then I will have to only use the first version, which will be permanent (either w/ SATIIs or w/o SATIIs) and will not work for each college. That’s where my concern lies.

Okay I see. I’m still not sure if that risk is worth it at this point. Since the test scores section is unofficial, it can’t matter that much if I don’t report my SATIIs, can it? Shouldn’t I be fine with leaving them off?

all the forms (include the school form) will be carried over excpet the essay and additional info doc.
once you replicate a new version, you “move schools” to the new version.

If you are worried just submit the app without the subject tests. That way the schools who you don’t want to see them won’t, and the schools who require them will still have your official score reports

The technique is: replicate a new version (from Instruction tag, you can see how to do it), then once a new version is created, you have to click “Move School” button under “original” version. (that is how the school form and other info get carried over)
