<p>So my roommate and I will be freshmen next year and living in Shively. I love everything Shively has to offer but I am slightly nervous about it being substance free. I don't smoke and don't really drink, but I guess I'm afraid that the people in shively will be really stuck up or super religious or something. If anyone has or is living in a substance free hall could you tell me what it's like?</p>

<p>It just means there is very little drinking (not totally zero but no one will throw up all over the bathroom) and no drug use. The students who live there aren’t there because they’re super religious, although some may be. Some may also dislike the idea of drunk roommates or don’t want loud ragers the day before an exam so they figure it’ll be quieter. Note that if you live in substance free, there are no restrictions upon what you choose to do in other dorms. Just not in YOUR dorm :)</p>
