<p>I was just wondering if any of you had been successful in appealing for more merit aid in the past few years.
I was admitted in the Honors Program and was awarded a 10k scholarship. GW is my top choice right now, but I am not sure that we would be able to afford it, without a little bit more help from the school, since we also do not qualify for need based aid.

<p>My daughter appealed her merit aid successfully. We had seen people on this board who had much lower GPAs and SAT/ACT scores getting higher merit awards. She was ultimately given a higher merit award (but not that much more) and they informed her of the award at 5 pm on April 29 even though she wrote the letter towards the beginning of April. </p>
<p>Did you log in to find out the entire package? I just checked and D had more merit awards listed in her pacjafe. The acceptance letter only listed one merit award. Now she has more.</p>

<p>@NewJerseyMom Can I ask you something? In her appeal, did you daughter mention any awards that were given to her by other universities and if yes, did she attach copies of these awards? Thanks!!</p>
