Yeah, 'cause we all want to be just like Hitler.

Steve Jobs but thats why he is with Apple . Maybe if he had went to an ivy he'd be as rich or successful as Bill Gates. Bill Gates charity is over 5 times as wealthy as Jobs' net worth.

If we're talking rich and influential, we have to include Daniel Burnham, who never quite got over his rejections from Harvard and Yale and is one of the most influential figures in American history:

Daniel Burnham - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

your face, my face, and your mom's face all were successful without the IvY LEague.

Oops, one I forgot:

Lucy (also known as Australopithecus afarensis) -- I forgot about her because she isn't technically human, but was a precursor to humanity.

I am pretty sure that about wraps it up. I don't think there are any non-Ivy League grads that have done really well other than these folks.

LOL. I just started thinking about that song: "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" (where the name is from) by the Beatles. xD

I honestly think people from before ivy league universities even existed shouldn't be mentioned here...

Successful People:
Will Ferrell - USC
George Lucas - USC
Steven Spielberg - CSU Long Beach
Lang Lang - uhh... some music school? He's a famous pianist, btw. (He played in the Beijing Olympics 2008 Closing Ceremony)

Joe Biden - U Delaware
Sarah Palin - U Idaho
John McCain - Navy

10char.......

Rod Serling- twilight zone
Antioch College

Jimmy Buffet- University of Southern Mississippi

Neil Armstrong - USC

Nice bump...

Either way, Jesus Christ and Chuck Norris are the only two you'll ever need for the definition of pwnage in all of existence.

I think we can say, that if you've got it, then you've got it and school means nothing.

anyway from my school

-Robin Yanhong Li
-Abbe Raven
-John Walsh
-Wolf Blitzer

I think JHop isn't the kind of school worth mentioning. The title might as well be Successful people who DIDNT go to Ivy Leagues (and the like)

Didn't 99.99+% of successful people NOT go to Ivies? How do we define unsuccessful? Below the poverty line? Most of us are quite successful.

In the end it all depends on how good you are.. for eg a very brilliant person might be accepted to an Ivy but then chose not to apply and choose a state school over the Ivy.. on the other hand some lucky ass hole who's not good enough might end up in an Ivy and then go nowhere in life.. so it all depends on yourself not where you go..

yeap, you might get lucky and meet another bill gates at an ivy and earn 20 billion because you played poker with him.. but these are rare cases.

didn't see Mark Cuban, dropped out of Indiana University.

I don't think Steven Seagal even went to college. Duff McKagan and Elgin Baylor went to Seattle U.

Of course there are a lot of successful people who didn't go to the Ivy League.

They went to MIT, Caltech, and Standford instead.

j/k =P

Denzel Washington - Fordham University. FTW. xD

FYI, the school near SF is spelled Sitford, not Standford.

Lazydog,

Not true about Rod Serling. He got his first degree from a college that didn't exist.
