successful transfers: upward grade trend

any of you mess up miserably for a year or two, then get your act together, maybe some academic renewal / repeated classes and end up at UCLA?

what was your GPA?

to which major did you apply?

what's your story?

bummmmmpppp

There is a UC Transfer thread.

Are you referring to you messing up in HS and then successfully transferring after two years at a CC?

yeah.. the is a UC transfer thread.. perused mostly by people who are in the process of transferring. my question is for UCLA students who have already transfered, but thanks. thanks for letting me know that there's a transfer thread. i'm really glad you responded to this post.

and altema: no. i'm referring to people who messed up in CC and then cleaned up.

I would think the admissions committee will take it into account when reviewing your application. However, I think that it comes down to meeting the minimum GPA requirement. You should at least aim to have your GPA at the average.

Oh dang, pinkerfloyd. If someone messes up in CC, there's like no real time to recover. Man, I'd like to hear some stories, because if I got like C's and D's one semester, my GPA would most likely never recover in time to even meet the min GPA. Since you basically apply after a year's worth of grades (your are in the process of your 3rd out of 4 semesters at CC when you apply), you can't really mess up that much.

But wow, I'd like to hear some stories!
