Suffield or Williston???

Williston has an average sat score of 1790 while Suffield has 1900+ @cameo43‌

But you know… There’s a certain @stargirl3 that may or may not but probably attending Suffield.

@mrnephew‌ *Solebury

@doriswong741 I see that Suffield has the big jump in SAT average relative to their SSAT average (of around 55% vs Williston 61%), which is great but I would be also a little suspicious. How much time do their students spend prepping for SAT? Are there mandatory weekly tests? What is being sacrificed for test prep? Would you like to get a lot of test prep at school or rather do on your own? Is there a large group of international students who score great for SAT rather than having uniform score growth over students?

Incidentally, one report lists Suffield having ACT average of 25 whereas WIlliston 33. I’m not certain of its accuracy though.

Oops. Sorry… X_X

You know… The s’s confused me.

@mrnephew‌ My English teacher, the one with the BS background, got it mixed up with Salisbury and was then confused because it’s a boys’ school. It’s all good.

[the moon with face emoji really needs to find its way to CC]

So Which school would u guys prefer?

I really liked Suffield when we walked around campus after the Loomis visit. It’s beautiful.

O yeah, I visited Loomis too, but I didnt like it… @mrnephew

Is there a map of NE prep schools?

Huh. I loved Loomis. But Suffield was great. Campus is relatively small(at least from what I saw), but it is very well designed.

No idea about Williston.

I’m also accepted to Brooks School, I don’t think I’m going, but does anyone also know something about this school?

I applied to Brooks! It has indoor rowing facilities. It’s a great school, based on the Groton model. Small community, beautiful campus undergoing renovation.

Unsurprising given that Endicott Peabody was involved in the founding of both.

Either school is great; you cannot go wrong. Congrats!!

If you are concerned about the test scores, etc, Of all the schools you mention, Loomis has the highest SSAT and SAT averages. Loomis is well known for their writing program as well.

I just met with the the alumni, and the school sounds awesome. There are so many good choices

There are so many, @doriswong741‌! If you have any more questions about Williston feel free to ask me!

Thanks a lot guys, you guys can really help me to choose the school that I’m meant to be at!!

I looked at the niche. They say academic of Suffield is A- and Williston is B+. Not know how accurate they are though.
