Suggest Colleges for a motivated, hard-working kid

No, no. That was bad wording, sorry. I meant to say that your EC’s, while solid and qualified, are not outstanding enough to get you an automatic in for a lot of these schools, which are reachy even for the best of students. Research and hospital work are typical EC’s for Asian “pre-med” students (at least from around here). For me at least, I saw a great disparity between freshman/sophomore year and junior year involvement (because they went from clubs to work/volunteering). Most of your clubs are nominal (unless you actually did meaningful stuff in them, which you should elaborate on). Your work/volunteering is good, though, and I think you should emphasize that in your application.

Johns Hopkins for medicine hands down.

Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic ain’t got nothing on Johns Hopkins Hospital (ranked THE BEST #1 Hospital in the US by USNews for 19 years in a row now) in addition to the #1 recipient of NIH/NSF biomedical R&D research dollars, #1 Public Health school, #2 Medical school, #3 Nursing school, best hospital, best Biomedical engineering, best everything in biology… everything.

Russian Presidents, Arab Princes, Foreign dignitaries, royal families, Leaders of foreign nations, Celebrities, Canadians and British citizens come to places like Johns Hopkins pretty much because they know they will get the best treatment available, treatment not available to them in their countries.
