Hello! I really need some help adding on to my college list. I live in Alaska and want to go out of state for college so any place is fair game. I'm interested in majoring in nursing. To be able to afford going out of state I really need at least a full tuition scholarship or something close to it, so merit aid/scholarships is super important! My SAT score is 2010/1390 (CR+M), and I just retook it, so I hope to get at least a 1400. My uw GPA is 3.97.

I have already looked at all the forums on here about automatic sholarships and what not so no need to suggest those. I've already spent lots of time looking at those, but I was just hoping for some more suggestions.

Please help! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! I just need to find some more schools with good merit aid and a good nursing scholarship.

Nursing programs have gotten quite competitive. Years ago I would have suggested that Georgetown would have loved to have a student from AK, but now I’m not so sure that they would back up their desire with meaningful FA for someone with your otherwise excellent resumé. I’m even less certain about UPenn, where the kids getting into nursing school are superbly qualified. Penn offers great aid to its nursing students and probably to most of the other majors as well. Even Pitt is going to want a 1500 probably before the money starts to flow, but they do love their diversity. You might look more closely at Pitt and the less expensive schools that have some merit. But even here your requirements for a cost no greater than 15-20K makes you hard-pressed to find a nursing program if not at one of these automatic full tuition scholarships you’ve already examined. The direct admit nursing programs are here:

I cannot think of one of these schools that is going to offer a net cost of 15-20K for a student with your resumé. York College of PA?
