Hey everyone. So as you can see on my other posts, I really want to go to top schools but I'm really lacking the test scores to do so. I originally wanted to retake the ACTs but I was stupid and missed the sign up. So I'm going to take the SATs. When I took the ACTs at the beginning of my junior year ( i'm a senior) I got 1640, i think. I really need to raise this score to a 2100 somehow. If anyone has any ways they think could help me, book recommendations, study plans etc. I would really like to hear them. Here is my ACT breakdown to give you an idea of how I did.
English 27
Usage/Mechanics 16
Rhetorical Skills 13

Mathematics 27
Pre-Algebra/Elem. Algebra 13
Algebra/Coord. Geometry 14
Plane Geometry/Trig. 14

Reading 31
Social Studies/Sciences 15
Arts/Literature 17

Science 24

Combined English/Writing 26
Writing (score range 2 to 12) 08

Thanks everyone. And wish me a ton of luck.

Take as many practice tests as you can, there are plenty available on the net.
Time your questions, time management is really important even if you know all the answers if important to time them.
Focus, Focus and Focus.
Include this in your plan and you would definitely do well. . Hope this information helps you.

I agree with Lizzysmith1981. “A little practice goes a long way.”

Just one more thing, for the questions you get wrong, make sure you completely understand why you got it wrong and why the correct answer is correct. I suggest that you try figuring out the correct answer on your own before reading answer explanation. If you have no clue, then read the answer explanation.

Last minute vocab cramming will work but not very well on friday night.

oooh! i’m not taking it this month. I’m taking it next month, so I have some time to prep.

Here are some specific questions I have:

(1) Where can I get excellent vocab lists?

(2) Where can I get the best math strategies?

Note: I would say writing, but I have a source for that.

Thank you for the advice guys!!!

direct hits. direct hits. direct hits. order from amazon or barnes and noble.

practice. there’s no strategy to SAT math; it isn’t manipulation of numbers and variables to find integrals. it’s simple, yet tricky at times. just practice. whatever you get wrong, make sure you understand WHY. all i can tell you…

thanks for the advice i took the sat, haha i like your name.
