Hi there! Here's my current draft of colleges to apply to, listed in order of my preference/selectivity:

Princeton
Yale
Harvard
Duke
Brown
Washington University in St. Louis
Tufts
Emory
University of Florida - Honors Program

Some context: I've got strong scores (2250 SAT, 34 ACT, 790/770 SAT II), plus some stand-out ECs and accomplishments. UF is my safety; Emory can pretty much be considered a safety; Tufts I feel confident about; Wash U and above it becomes tough to know, that's where I'm hoping the fact that I actually started something new and innovative - more than just a school club - will set me apart.

Any tips/suggestions? Any comparable schools you'd recommend looking into?

I'm looking for a mid-size school, undecided with an interest in Economics, preferably east coast, will apply early.

Fits in with the rest - 3.9 with 5s on 5 AP classes so far. Not asking for a “chance” per se, more valuable would be any mid-size schools with similar selectivity that I’ve overlooked. Thanks!

Apart from Stanford, USC, Caltech, Washington U, and Rice most of the other USNews top 30 private universities meet your criteria. Even MIT has an Econ major.

Your stats look great! Definitely in the competitive pool.

If you are interested in Econ, you could also look at University of Chicago, Penn, and Columbia (Though Penn might be a bit larger than you prefer). Chicago isn’t east coast, but it’s the best Econ department in the country.

Well, that’s what I get for speed reading. I agree that Emory is NOT a safety school under any circumstances – at least as what I understand to be a “safety school.”
