I have the main part of my essay done but in the last part I need to include "why you chose your particular major, and how you expect University to help you achieve your academic, personal and professional goals.why you chose your particular major, and how you expect University to help you achieve your academic, personal and professional goals." I am honestly blanking here because I don't know if I should put what type of person I am, like the generic answers everybody does. Do I say what I strive in the I feel like the University would supply to me and what I think I could grow on there? I'm just drawing a blank and any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

I dislike this question. I had to answer it a million times when I was applying to colleges, and I wasn’t really happy with any of my answers. I’ve also done some professional college essay editing (for a company called EditRevise), and I haven’t seen many outstanding answers to this question, either.

After a lot of thought and a lot of reading, I’ve realized that this question is no different from any other college application question. It’s all about you and your talents. It’s an opportunity for you to discuss your passions and how the school would help refine them. Focus on yourself for a lot of the essay (be sure to explain how your major will help you in your career, i.e., “I want to be an astronaut so I will study aerospace engineering”), and then explain how your interests and personality align with the opportunities the college would make available to you.
