So basically I've taken an incredibly heavy course load ~ all hnrs/ap since soph year, 2 fresh year (15 total), and because i got quite a few Bs, which lowers my gpa below some ppl i know for a fact don't do as much work as i do, I'm worried I'm not going to get into ANY decent colleges because i wasn't as meticulous as i could have been with my grades. What do you guys think? Any suggestions for above average colleges that might accept me?

Your Definitley going to get into a good college, maybe not Ivy League, but a top tier college.
What do you want to study? What type of campus setting?

I’m really not sure yet…I think I’ll go in undecided (but definitely not engineering so i dont think my major will b a huge factor). i doubt i’ll apply to any ivys, but i love like NW and UCB should they even be in my radar?

What. how are you average-ish? Write good essays and you still have as good a chance as anyone at top tier colleges. Man, people on CC…

haha lol thnx…cc has brought the cynic out of me seriously tho

okkkk i guess that’s it then nite guys

First of all, you’ll definitely get into an excellent school.

Your grades are good, with a rigorous course load, you expect excellent SATs and have very nice ECs.

It’s tough to come up with a list, until you receive your SATIs, but assuming a 2100 or better, here’s a guess.

Using USN&WR National List as a rough guide – With your GPA, the top 25 schools are probably a reach. Which is not to say that you shouldn’t apply to a couple – I’m a firm believer in reach applications for many. Given your ECs and the holistic review process that many use, it is very possible that your application will appeal to an admissions officer who will advocate for you. This being said, and taking into account the impossibly low acceptance percentages at these schools, you would need to expand your list.

25-50 on the list – this is where your grades/scores begin to hit (and in many cases exceed) the averages for admitted students. I would think that if you find several universities from this list, you have an excellent chance at getting into one or more. There are some really excellent schools in this category.

Add a few safeties, ‘just in case’.

Like said before, your GPA is a little bit low, but you will definitely be attending a great college next year. If you can get that up in anyway, your application will only be strengthened. Other than that, I think that you should just wait for your SAT I scores!
