Hello all,

I've just graduated from Swarthmore College (a few days ago, actually!) and am not going straight to grad school (i'm actually going to be teaching english in japan for at least a year) but I am trying to think about where I might go next.

It's still a fuzzy idea in the details, but I'd like to find a school that would help me move forward in the creation of an arts for peace program. Ideally, I could have a degree that combines international peace studies with education and honing my skills in the arts. However, it doesn't seem that many schools offer a peace studies concentration, or if they do, I'm not sure how well I could get out of grad school all the skills i'm looking to improve.

So far, I've been looking into University for Peace in Costa Rica and SIT Graduate Institute in Vermont...if anyone has any info about these schools and how well you think they might fit my interests, please let me know! Also, I've heard good things about NYU Gallatin school that lets you create your own concentration--does anyone have experience or know about this school? Since your program is nontraditional, is the degree looked upon favorably out in the "real world?"

Also, if anyone has any general resources they know of dealing with peace studies, arts for peace, creative writing, or peace education, please let me know!

Thank you!
