What are some universities with good programs in conflict resolution and peace studies? I'm looking for unis with strong IR programs that are in the Northeast. Any help would be great

Brown has a global securities track in the IR concentration. I'm sure many schools do, however.

Why save the world when you can sell out?

Swarthmore has a Peace and Conflict Studies major.

Colgate and Juniata.

Tufts (the major is called Peace & Justice Studies, but seems to be the same thing)

Penn has a great IR program for undergrads, but it is very much focused on international relations as they are, not as we wish them to be.

That is, if you sat down with the head of the IR program and told him you wanted to do "peace studies," he would probably point you to Plato's aphorism "only the dead have seen the end of war"

Earlham...

Haverford/Bryn Mawr have a joint minor in Peace & Conflict Studies, with substantial course offerings so that you could probably self-design a major pretty easily.

Holy Cross has a Peace and Conflict Studies major: Peace and Conflict Studies | College of the Holy Cross

Berkeley has a program.

Pretty much anywhere with an IR concentration is going to be fine for this interest, although I have to say "peace studies" is the most ridiculous euphemism I've heard in a while.

cornell (10 char)

Never thought I'd see myself nodding my head in agreement to something modestmelody wrote! ;)

Notre Dame has such a program.

Georgetown has a peace and justice certificate within the School of Foreign Service

Oh, come on now. You had to agree with me that it was a bit ridiculous to suggest that Penn would have better access to good bagels than Columbia would, despite the large religious Jewish community at Penn...

UNC-Chapel Hill has a program in Peace, War and Defence

???conflict resolution and peace studies????

How about underwater basketweaving?

what kind of job placement do these program have, in comparison with NON-politically tilted International relations graduates.

Job are hard to come by; don't limit your chances by shouting your politics.
