So I just received an e-mail about more open spots for chem 6a for Johnson, so I dropped what I previously had (which was me being 5 on her waitlist for the 7 PM discussion) and changed to a new one, which was a 9 AM discussion on Fridays.

Now, I already have the warren writing, math 20b, intro to cogsci, and a freshman seminar.

So I don't know, should I just leave my schedule as the same as before, without chem, or drop something else...?

How hard is math 20b as compared to ap calc bc?

I'm thinking of either dropping chem or math... or perhaps the writing...?

id suggest not to drop anything. just go to classes and see how things are going, drop dates are usually after the first midterm/paper so you can see how you are dealing with what youve got and make a decision then…but to me that is a completely doable sched.

You should be fine, your course load looks “normal” so to speak for a science/math/engineering major, no need to drop anything (:

Depending on your math abilities, and your work ethic, the Math 20 Series may be a shock to you. Two of my suitemates scored 5’s on the AP Calculus BC test, and still got C/C+'s in Math 20C :O

i think its more of a difference of how calculus is taught in highschool (where your teacher handholds you the enitre way) vs how calc is taught in college (150 students where the prof wont try to reach out to help you, you need to come to them)

Is there a lot of tutoring and stuff offered for Math 20C? 'Cause I’m weak in math (got like 650 on the SAT II) and my calculus teacher did a lot of ‘hand-holding’. I’m so scared about 20C & D, but I need them for my major.

theres also the calculus tutoring in the basement of APM, I think they tutor up to math 20c, your professor should mention it in class, and if you ask your ta he’ll tell you about it…its free tutoring for calc
