Hi I am thinking of transferring out of my current school and was wondering if anyone could suggest some schools in either the midwest/south that I should look into. I want a small school but not too small (at least 3000-4000). I also want a very campusy feel with lots of on campus activities available because I feel my school now does not offer very much in that extent for the fact that we are located in a city and they think that should be enough entertainment.

crzygrl, there are plenty of schools that fit your criteria. If you can tell us a bit more about your academic interests, etc. it might help to narrow things down. The midwest & the south are pretty different ... what attracts you to each area? That also might help in terms of school suggestions.

I am from Indiana but am currently a freshman at College of Charleston. I got a 3.8 last semester and had a gpa of 3.7 in high school. My sat score was a 1960 (cr=680, m=650, w=630). I felt like I picked my college more on the city of Charleston itself (which I still love) but would prefer a school that had more of a campus and on-campus activities. I am not opposed to southern schools but do not want only "southern belles" there. Why I say I want schools in the midwest is because I lived my entire life there and I would be in more driveable distance. I even am considering the Northeast..pretty much i want it to be about the school not the geographic location. I just want to explore a lot of options. So far the ones I am exploring are Elon, Wittenberg and Denison and I am open for LOTS of suggestions.

Wittenburg has 1950 students & Denison has 2100. Elon is larger, with around 5000. You might want to consider Furman, if you like southern weather ... lots to do on campus. My D is from MI & doesn't think it's full of southern belles. It has 2800 students. In the midwest, Albion (MI) is rated as one of the top schools for things to do on campus. It's a bit smaller, with 1950 students. If you aren't opposed to being near home, how about Butler? It has 4000 undergrads & seems to fit what you want. If you can give feedback on those, that might lead to more recommendations.

I have thought about applying to Furman. I will look into Albion and I can not do Butler as that is about 15-30 minutes from my home which would be way too close.

Thank you for the suggestions though!

I definitely understand about Butler! :) A couple more ideas: Ohio Wesleyan, Indiana Wesleyan (college town with a big campus nearby --- could be fun!), Valparaiso, Baldwin-Wallace, Wooster.

There are all very different schools that are being suggested. What kind of campus culture, type of students, etc are you looking for?
