Transfer school suggestions please

Good evening everyone,

I'm currently in my second year of college and am going to take classes this spring at my local community college. Up until now, I was at a small liberal arts college majoring in Business Administration, and I have a ~2.6 GPA from there. I was on track with all of my courses and such, but decided that I was just not happy there with my overall "college experience". My thought is that I'm only going to have one shot at college, so I would like it to be something that I enjoy. I think what had me most unhappy was the social aspect, which was composed mostly of fraternities and sororities. If you weren't into that (which I was not/am not), you are pretty much out of luck.

I live in Illinois and am not sure what would be best for me as far as distance goes, therefore I have only applied to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (interested in Supply Chain Management) and Auburn University (Supply Chain Management/Entrepreneurship). Both seem to be a place where I would have a better experience as well as get the education I'm looking for. However, I'd like to get another person's input on any other schools I should consider. I would prefer to either stay in Illinois/Indiana/Wisconsin, or go somewhere south in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee or Kentucky. The reason for looking further away is that I would be less tempted to go home often due to the obvious long commute. Does anyone have any insight on any other schools that I should consider?

Thank you!

How is your financial situation?

You don’t want a big Greek scene. What do you want? How do you want to spend your free time? In a big city or the middle of nowhere?

Give us your ideal and then we can suggest places which closest match what you want.

Financially, anything at of below about 25k is doable.

I would like a place that has a wide variety of clubs and more interaction among students. The school that I am “taking a break” from did not have many clubs at all, and very VERY little interaction between students (unless of course you’re Greek). So in short, somewhere where a non-Greek will not feel like an alien and will hopefully have an easier time meeting and befriending people. I do not care about the setting as far as city or country.

Thanks!

Western Illinois University?
