Suitcase School?

I understand that a majority of the students at UVa are from Va. Do most people stay on campus on the weekends? Are there enough activites/places near the campus for students on the weekend? What kind of activities do the typical students partake in on the weekends?

Pretty much everyone stays. There's plenty to do during the week and especially on weekends, whether its on grounds, in downtown C'ville, or just hanging out. UVa is definitely not a suitcase school. We all love it too much.

Lol UVa isn't a suitcase school at all. There's a ton to do on weekends for people with all kinds of interests.

Well I would almost disagree in that every weekend there is SOMEONE you know going home (which becomes frustrating when you live far away and can't just drive home for the weekend) but on the other hand it is not A LOT of people going home every weekend, just a few, kind of like on a rotating basis. A lot of people also take day trips during the weekend if they have cars to Richmond, DC, hiking, whatever. But with 20,000 students there is always something great to do over the weekends at UVA - club meetings, parties, movies, dorm hang outs, things going on downtown or at JPA like concerts, etc. You won't be bored.

people go places sometimes. usually you stay. there is too much to do on/around grounds.
