Is it easy to get a suite as a freshman? Thanks!

Miami does housing a bit differently than many schools. You get to pick your "price range" - and a double, triple, and quad are all lumped together under the same price, so unless you want a single, you could end up randomly in any of the rooms in the lower price range.

The other thing you pick is your "LLC" - living learning community - you pick a first and second choice. Basically, you get to choose a "common interest" - some of the choices I remember are Honors/Scholars, courses in common, leadership, various languages, arts, and so on.

Then the powers that be decide which LLC is going to live in which dorm (which may or may not have any suites in them), and I think they must pull names out of a hat at that point. (J/K, but there is no student survey, etc, to use when they assign roommates and rooms.)

That's the long way of saying, there aren't many suites for freshmen, and the few that exist are assigned randomly.
