Anyone else hear from them? I got accepted into Program I.

I got rejected :( Hey aznjackal, were u involved in any math competitions? and did u have outstanding accomplishments in them?

I've done all math competitions offered by my school so far - mostly UKMTs (I live in London - google them if you're not familiar with them) in which I got "Gold Certificates" (top 6% of all UK students who took them) and certificates for best in school for all the ones I took. I usually qualified and did the follow up rounds and did well in those - the highest round I've done so far is the BMO (math olympiad) round 1, but I only knew how to answer one of the six problems so my luck ran out there.
I did CTY courses in Number Theory and Data Structures and Algorithms (I used Number Theory to help with a couple of the problems on the app). And I placed in the top ten for the Junior ISMTF competition in 8th grade in 2006 (8th place) and again this year (5th place, although the competition took place after the app had been mailed out).
As for the problems on the app itself, I think my solutions were good for the most part, but I'm 99% sure I couldn't have gotten it without all the math stuff listed above. If you want to know any more of my stats, just ask.

yeah i bet; I am pretty sure my solutions were good too, and I think they were able to see that i love math through the personal info sheet. However, I just got really interested in math the middle of last year, so I dont think i was mathematically mature enough, especially since i didnt really accomplish much through the math competitions. Wow, i am impressed of your performaces! I really wish I were u right now! jk...but still that rejection was :( painful. I still applied to ISSYP though, which is a theoretical physics camp. I have been sriously interactin with theoretical physics for the past three years...and i fell in love with it. I hope I get in though. Have you heard of International Summer School for Young Physicists?
Wow, ur so cool!

Yeah, my dad told me about ISSYP (he found tons of summer programs that he thought I should maybe do). I decided to go for math in the end though. It sounds like you're a lot more interested in physics than math anyway so I really hope you get in =]

So...anyone else get into SUMaC? I can't be the only person here to get in...

bump..
Anyone else for SUMaC?

Hey aznjackal

I also got accepted into Program 1. PM me your msn address so we can chat more conveniently.

Hey I got accepted in program 1 as well. Its gonna start in like 3 days!!!! Can't wait to be there.
