I would really like to attend a math program this summer (2010). These (WTP, PROMYS, and SUMaC) are a few I've looked at. Does anyone have any info on these? Any alumni? Or suggestions on other math summer programs for high school juniors (summer before senior year) would be greatly appreciated!

Our D applied to the SUMAC program for the summer between her Sophomore and Junior years in high school. Worked her butt off on the application and the problems. Didn’t get in. She was really disappointed (as is everyone who doesn’t get it). Program looked awesome. She ended up doing something else the following summer. I think she was still a little mad at them. All is forgiven now, since she is a freshmen at Stanford and hoping to do work with the SUMAC program in the future.

We also looked into the PROMYS program, which looked great. I don’t think you could go wrong with any of those three programs. It just depends on what your interest is. She had no interest in the WTP since she attended an all girl prep school. Cambridge is awesome and MIT is ‘the mother ship’ according to D. Good luck with your search.

Thank you so much! What’s the program at Cambridge? I looked it up, but I seem to be having trouble finding it.

MIT is in Cambridge. That’s what emgamac is referring to.
