Summer Academy for Math and Science (SAMS) & AP/EA @ Carnegie-Mellon?

yeah, that would suck that i can't go to NJ governor's school.:(
and yeah, i hope i make it, as u do, but I'm not sure if I could go to Carngie Mellon Summer Prog b/c i just got accepted into a research program to do my own original research.

Wow, that sounds really cool. Hope you have fun.

i just applied to another summer program (Temple U Summer Academy - for instate only).

It will only serve as a backup...hopefully i won't need it.

I SO SO SO WANT TO GO TO CM THIS SUMMER!!!!!!!!

thanks silverdragon. but i'm still agonzing all over this stuff and decisionss....even i accepted UIowa's offer.

Well, it's a student's life to worry about decisions and stuff. lol

lol
tick tock tick tock

ugh, may seems so far away...

i wish i could like, warp through time or something.

Yea, find something to occupy time. Like playing a sport or working. If you can do that, then time goes by a little more quickly.

hmmm...i just came up with a possible solution. I can do Iowa summer reaserach to do my own independent research, and then when the program ends, I can fly to NM to start to intern in Los Alamos National Lab. I mean, LANL don't have specific dates i have to start and end. yessss!!!! Looks like i can do two research stuff in one summer! (as long my aunt and uncle are willing to pay for the whole thing).

A common tendency on threads where people await decisions is for CC'ers to slowly grow less and less confindent that they will get in. Alas, I am too beginning to dread my decision and the "rejected" that it will surely contain. What if, though, it says "waitlisted"? Does the summer program even do this? On one hand, such a late decision date makes it likely that some admits will have already committed to other summer programs and will have to turn CMU down. Thus, they must have some way to protect their yield. However, a May decision date also poses the problem that if anybody were waitlisted, they would not know if they actually got in until mere weeks before the program began. Is there a waitlist? How many applicants are placed on it?

well i think i will most likely be rejected...i've thought this since the beginning, not slowly growing less confident ;]

im growing less confident too...

same here.....

be confident guys!

confidence is overrated

lol...what?

lol. yeah. what is the "confidence is overrated" about?

bump because the thread got pushed to the second page.

umm....we shouldn't keep our hopes up too high, so we wouldn't be hurt too badly? is that what u mean?

I"m going to start a countdown thread during the last week or so of April...
