hmm, well maybe they want to catch us by surprise so they really said late april when they meant mid-april. In addition, they are really sending them out April 1st (Fedex Overnight), but they are compensating for massive blizzards (think "The Day After Tomorrow") that are in the forcast. So with any luck we should all know by April 2nd. GL ALL!!!

^I see I'm not the only one who HATES waiting for decisions...I'm going to be miserable come January 1st (after college apps are in).

We're going to have to make sure we update each other on our acceptances/decisions come late april into early may.

i wonder how i'll feel if/when i get rejected. Oh well, at least i'm preparing for college decisions this way.

As much as i would love to attend this program, the writing is kind of on the wall that i will get rejected because i am a white male in a medium income family. I think my essays were quite good and distinguished myself, but it all comes down to a vowel and two consonants =(

yeah..im asian with a medium to high income...thats bad...how much do they look at stuff liek that? considering its for "diversity" probably alot

I'm an asian male, with high income, from NJ = FAIL. Diversity means incorporating a little of everything. They must take some ORMs.

yeah im from NJ too! haha i guess we're competing against each other ;]

lol, yea for CMU and for SSP. Decisions are driving me up the wall, I can't stand waiting for something thats essentially one word.

Just curious, but did anyone apply for the "other" programs such as drama, architect, etc...???

Are they harder to get into??

Cause if not, I"ll apply. lol
They seem very interesting. =D

do you think being from arizona will help at all? i doubt they would get as many apps from the southwest, but then again, there are probably hundreds of kids who would rather spend a summer in Pitt than in the 110 degree desert.. i also get a nice tan out here so maybe next time i should send in a photo of myself and they may mistake me for a minority :P

Edit, responding to silverdragon: no, the only program i applied to was AP/EA, but the game acadamy did seem somewhat interesting. However, from what i have read on various threads here, only 100 people total are admitted to the diversity program. So that means 100 people spread across SAMS, AP/EA, Drama, Architecture etc... thus it probably won't help your chances to apply to more than one program

LOL, apply to the art one, just to send in a drawing. Send a self-portrait. Then at least you have an excuse to send a picture and maybe get mis-categorized.

no no no...wrong. 100 people are admitted to SAMS. According to someone who attended last year.

And, for AP/EA Diversity the lady I talked to from the admissions office said about 200 people applied for 25 spots.

Wow, only 25? That sucks.

I think I'm rejected. Middle-class Asian with lame essays and generic stats. Cry.

ah, thanks for the clarification. well yeah thats rough. hopefully the 200 applicants for AP/EA includes people who marked it as their second or third choices

^um, wow, the numbers keep changing.

aw well

dtl42's info sounds much more realistic. i was a diversity ap/ea last year and only met about 7 others throughout the program.

bump..........

oooo. ouch, the numbers don't look too good, esp for AP/EA. i live in CT, but i moved from northern NJ in early feb, so all of my transcripts and letters of rec(teachers said something like "i'm one of their best students in their career") are from NJ. My activites are from both NJ and CT, but not too much.
I think i did pretty well on the essays, espeically on the diversity part, which gave me one of the biggest advantage to show why they should pick me, compared to all of other applicants.
Hey Narcissa, did you apply to NJ's governor school? i applied to the envrionment but i couldn't attend b/c i'm not in NJ anymore :(

watch that you got accepted to Nj gov school and then you reply saying "I don't live in Nj anymore"

lol. that would suck.

Anyways,I hope you make it, just like me =D
