One woman put on music to stall… at least that’s what she told me when she was “pulling my file”. i can’t take this… gosh i shouldn’t have signed up if i knew the anticipation would be this bad.

i know! it must be tough on them breaking teenagers hearts =( like mine… potentially

My D applied to SAMS and received letter today. Not accepted. I called and asked how many students were accepted to the program. The answer was 50 students, which is 1/2 of the number previously quoted.

have any of you been waitlisted?

Has anyone attended/applied to this program? Do you know what’s the acceptance rate? My S applied and we are waiting for the letter

well does anyone know how many are on the the waiting list?

lol rejected~
wait there is a waitlist??? wow I wish I’m waitlisted

yeah i got waitlisted. the letter said a small group of applicants have been placed on the waitlist. i just curious how many people are on the waitlist.

National High school Game Academy, Carnegie Mellon

Did you apply for the paid program or the SAMS free program? Obviously, if it is for the free program, it is very difficult to be accepted for the obvious reason. According to many that have called, the acceptance/rejection letters were being mailed late last week. You should find out real soon, I think.

OMG I GOT IN! (AP/EA) I’m sooooooooo excited as this was my number one choice! I’m a bit nervous since this will be my first time away from home since my parents are extremely strict & overprotective but I’m looking forward to it and to meeting the rest of you who got in! Congrats to everyone who got in, good luck to those on the waitlist, and sorry to those who didn’t get in. :(

Hey rissa can you tell us your stats
just so we have an idea?

He applied for the SAMS (free) program. Has anyone got an acceptance letter for this?

Sure.

GPA: 95.77% (Weighted, although I’ve only taken one weighted course (AP Biology)
PSAT: 189 (64 C, 62 M)
Awards: Random awards from my school
Extracurriculars: student gov’t (treasurer), brain bee competition (4th), tutoring the younger kids for their regents (~100), teacher’s assistant (7th grade science), legal outreach summer law institute (summer), legal outreach internship program (summer). I worked at a day care last summer. Health Science club (secretary). I also am enrolled in 2 college now courses (Statistics & Sociology) and I took Psychology last year (A)
Essays: I wrote about the Brain Bee Competition & the diversity one was pretty blah.
Recommendations: I think they were fantastic and were absolutely the reason I got in! I got one from my 9th grade chem teacher & my world history teacher.

Aside from my grades, I def. think it was the recommendations that may have gotten me in. My chemistry teacher wrote about how I was one of the best students she’s ever had and about some of my extra curriculars & my world history teacher wrote about how i’m an eager learner who asks a lot of questions and stuff like that.
