<p>where did you apply: SAMS or AP/EA?</p>
<p>I applied to AP/EA - SAMS seemed pretty basic. But I'm a little skeptical about how hard it can really be to get into these summer programs. Could they seriously be as selective as an Ivy?</p>
<p>They're actually more selective then most ivies. SAMS has an acceptance rate of about 9% and AP/EA has probably around the same acceptance rate. However, AP/EA is for people with really good stats, and SAMS is more for people with "good" stats who can improve.</p>
<p>I lost hearing in both of my ears. I"m profound deaf, which means I completely lost my hearing, so I had to undergo a Cochlear Implant surgery that enable to let me go mainstream and compete with you guys.:D</p>

<p>Perhaps a lack of applicants? Or maybe their own disorganization could lead to the extension. Not that I am in anyway implying that they are disorganized.</p>

<p>i applied to some other non-famous but still great and free summer programs. if anybody wants to hear about them, tell me and i will give you the info for the one that has a deadline for apps in april. you have to be a minority though, and for one of them you have to be hispanic and have an interest in medicine.</p>

<p>So, it has been over 3 weeks now since I mailed out the application, but no confirmation. Granted, i did send the app through the mail with a return reciept, so i know that it was at least delivered to the admissions office, but who knows, the place may have burned down and they forgot to salvage my app from the ashes.. yeah, im convinced that is what happened.</p>
<p>have any of you recieved a confirmation yet?</p>
