Hi CC,
I am majoring in accounting and finance, and I am going into my senior year of college. I had plans for a summer class and a summer job at my university, but plans for both ended up falling through for various reasons. I have a research project I need to do this summer to graduate, but I need another activity to keep me occupied. Are there any activites I can do that can keep me busy and also help me to develop my resume? Or should I enjoy this time before the onslaught of my senior year? I’d appreciate any advice!
Are there no summer jobs near where you are living? Even a part time job in a restaurant or retail store would be something to put on your resume.
Agree with above post. You need to demonstrate that you know what it is to actually perform a job day in and day out. And that you can work in a group environment. Maybe your research project can demonstrate that but real world experience, even part time, would definitely help.
It’s a great time to work those jobs you know you WON’T want to do once you have that degree in your hand.
