Summer Activities

<p>ANYONE WHO GOT INTO HARVARD/IS INTERESTED IN HARVARD/ IS LURKING AROUND THE HARVARD DISCUSSION THREAD: </p>

<p>What were your summer activities? Classes at local college? Internship? Traveling? Reading? Studying? Did you guys end up writing about it in one of your college essays/plan on writing about it?</p>

<p>i’m the interested
i’ll spend most of the time studying
but i’m planning to travel around and maybe promote environmental protection which, would possibly be my dedication
what about you?</p>

<p>My summer activities were pretty average. I was waitlisted at H. Accepted to YS (and others…).</p>

<p>Summer b/t Soph and Junior: Moved to Hawaii. Didn’t do anything else
Summer b/t Junior and Senior: Band camp, All State Marching Band rehearsals, 2 online classes (required for graduation)…bout it</p>

<p>I am continuing my community service, attending a local community college, working for congressmen McDermott and staying with my friend who is a sophomore this year at Harvard for a week. I might also do some music theory.</p>

<p>Im am one of the interested: Will be working on my novel, preparing for more standardized tests, practicing the cello and giving a few lessons- thats about it really…</p>

<p>I am someone who is considering applying this winter. I’ll be:</p>

<p>-working as a paid intern at two local papers
-attending the University of Iowa’s writer’s studio
-taking a course in abnormal psychology at a local university
-college visiting
-partying</p>

2008 - Deputy Field Director - RNC
2008 - Deputy Campaign Manager - Local State House Race</p>

<p>I was a counselor at a summer camp and I worked at Dunkin’ Donuts.</p>

<p>I already love Dunkin’ Donuts! Charleston finally got a Dunkin’ Donuts and I tried it today for the first time on my way to summer classes :)</p>

<p>My friend who got into Harvard didn’t do anything over her summer vacations except scattered service projects and studying on her own in preparation for the following year.</p>

<p>I’m Harvard '13 as well.
I traveled a lot (orchestra, band tours), did a research internship one summer, and volunteer work at a bunch of different places.</p>
