Hey guys,
I just got accepted to PA for the Summer Session Lower School Institute and was wondering if any of you had any experience with this.
What is the course load like (eg. how many hours of homework?)? Are kids welcoming even if you aren’t normally attending? Are the teachers nice and do they explain everything if you don’t understand? What is the general atmosphere? Is it ‘I’m a rich kid’ type? or “I’m here to learn and have fun at the same time” type? Last question, how are the sports? How many do you get to take, and what types?
Thank you guys so much!
EDIT:
Even if you just answer one of these questions, please respond! Thank you so much!!!
My D attended Exeter upper school, not Andover. She had an amazing experience. Took a good solid week before she started to branch out and make friends. But once she did, made some wonderful friends from all over the world. She took 3 classes and definitely found 2 of them to be challenging, because they were not classes she normally would have taken. It was her first experience away from home for that length of time, and she had some ups and downs of learning to balance her classes, sports, social life and more “freedom” then she has had before. But overall it was an incredible experience and she would do it again if she had the opportunity!
@toomanykiddos Thank you so much! Does she happen to remember how the teachers were? Also, since I am a day student, do DS’ fit in really well? Thanks again!
