Its a lot fun for the new freshmen that live there, but hell for the people who work/live there.

besides noise what other things go on that are characteristic of summer b

Excessive drinking, vomit, people passed out, going out every night (crowd control), marijuana, lock outs, etc.

Some floors worst than others.

Hume is similar but jennings was worst last summer.

You'll probably see a lot of kids with their heads in the toilet. Get used to it, that is, if you are not one of them. :)

Summer B is always going to be crazy especially for the incoming freshmen since they are just getting used to the whole being on my own and living away from my house idea. Because most freshmen don't take such a difficuly courseload, there is a lot of partying, drinking, noise, excitement. It's a lot of fun.

minus the head in toilet party i think i'll be just fine

is hume still an honors dorm? i thought i had read that uf was eliminating the honors housing?

what do you do with your stuff at the end of summer b? do you stay in the same dorm/room? do they have storage in your fall dorm for you to keep things untill the term begins?

hume isn't honors housing during the summer term

Is Hume still a honors dorm?

Yes, but during summer they don't have enough residents to apply that rule. So during the summer that rule is lifted.

Also... honors students doesn't always equal good, studious students.

Where do I put my stuff?

At the end of summer B, housing allows students to store there stuff in the closets of there new room (on certain dates and time). You CANNOT use the elevator to bring things up (so dont ask the Senior Clerk or DA, some RA's might be understanding and help you ), its up to you to left that 40-50 lb frig to the 4th floor. The rule is that you can only store your stuff in the closets but I also used the top of bed and the desk. If you have the same room summer and fall then things are really easy for you, you dont move.

Many parents don't know this but...
** Murphree Area does not have an elevator**

Does anyone know how many outlets there are in a room in Jennings?

I have pictures from my visit of the show room and I am trying to figure out where I would put a fridge, etc. Any tips?

kristendotcom could i get some of those pictures of jennings?

Um, sure, I just dont know how to go about doing that.

In Broward, the kids pushed the dresser under the window off to one side (next to one bed) and put the fridge next to it. There was an outlet right behind it and there was one outlet on each of the other two walls. They had to use a heavy duty extension cord (one with many outlets on it) to plug in all there other stuff (clocks, printer, desk lamp). They put thier TV on top of the chest of drawers. In Jennings, a lot of people put their TV's on the top of the closet (since it faces the beds, unlike Broward where the closets face each other).

4 electrical outlets on each side of the room (2 by the window and 2 closer to the middle of the wall). 8 total in the room.

8? Wow thats a lot more than Broward.

How do you fit the TV in the closet? The shelf on top doesnt look like it can fit a TV.

Smaller TV's can fit. They use an extension cord to the middle wall outlet.
