summer b freshman housing

I applied for Rawlings hall as my first preference for summer b, but received an email that they made a mistake and are no longer offering Rawlings for the Summer B term. Between Springs, Murphree, and Sledd can anyone give me advice as to which ones to choose as my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd options. I'm looking for the most social dorm.

^ that's crazy, lol.. someone has hopes on attending somewhere and they made a mistake. Hopefully someone can answer your question though, you should also browse their pictures to see what you like about the dorms.

For summer B, Jennings is the most social.

I have friends that stay in Jenny's. They say the dorms suck, but it comes with the college experience package at UF. So pretty much, I guess you would want to go to a social dorm if you are an outgoing person and want to meet new people.

Except Jennings isn't offered for Summer B this year. All we can choose from is Murphree, Sledd, Springs, Hume (honors only of course), Lakeside, and Buckman.

It really sucks, because I was hoping to spend the summer in Rawlings...

Is Hume honors during summer B??? Usually it is not honors during summer B. From the above list, I would stick with Murphee. I am pretty sure that Buckman has NO A/C and I am not sure about Sledd. Murphee is right near Turlington and the area where a lot of intro classes are.

seiclan, you could be right about Hume not being honors for summer B. That was an assumption on my part. AFAIK, Sledd does have a/c, but Buckman does not.

I guess I'll call Monday to check about Hume. I'm not in honors, which I wondered why I had Hume as a housing option.

I heard Buckman not having a/c isn't that bad, but if you're attending for the summer, (don't their rooms have more space as a trade-off?) I imagine it would be a slight problem.

Anyone can live in Hume over the summer. If you are in Honors and selected Hume for Fall, they try their best to keep you in the same room so you don't have to move everything out. There aren't enough Honors students to fill Hume over the summer, that is why it is open to everyone.

Hume isn't honors during summer b. Generally the most social during summer b is Jennings/Hume/Rawlings, since they are not opening Jennings/Rawling (probably due to lack in applications). However, still look out for Jennings/Rawling, they open dorms if they have more people applying for housing.
