What would you recommend a pre-med freshmen to take during the very first semester (Summer B) at UF? What would YOU take if you were me? Not that I have to idea what I'm interested in, I'm just looking for CCers' opinion. :)
Thanks.

I took into to chem (CHM1025, I think?) and abnormal psychology, and loved them both. They’re both amazing soft entries into the very strenuous pre-med program. It also may help to take an HSC class, such as HSC2000 if it’s offered, since most pre-med programs require that at some point.

Take one or two classes relevant to pre-med, such as intro or general chemistry, some type of math class etc.

Just don’t overdo it, no need to rush. You need the six weeks to adjust, then in the Fall, when most people show you, you’ll be well-off

I wouldn’t recommend taking general chem or a math class unless you’re very good at these subjects. Because it is a 6 week semester, the class may be more intense and fast paced than if you were taking it during fall or spring. Id recommend fulfilling your general ed requirements with Intro to Psych, Intro to sociology, an anthropology course or an art elective. I wouldn’t jump straight into your pre med sciences during such a short semester but it all comes down to how prepared you feel personally. Also, you should try to take no more than two classes. This will also give you the advantage of having more free time to adjust yourself, make friends and get to know the campus. I’m a pre med. Junior Good luck.
