I see my advisor next week for summer classes... I want to take a class (or classes) during the 3 week summer and a couple of classes during the 8 week summer.

My question is what is doable? I know I want to take english during the 3 week (or should I take something else?) Can I take another class as well, maybe a perspective during the 3 week or would that kill me?

During the 8 week I want to take Abnormal Psychology or Child Psychology and a lab Biology. Could I also take Sociology or American government?

I guess I just need to know from those who have taken summer classes; what is too much?

I once took one each of a 4-, 3-, and 2-credit course (9 cred total) over a summer. I think the 3-credit was only the first six weeks, the 4-credit was all summer, and the 2-credit began at week two and went through the end of summer. Basically I started by taking 7 credits at a time, bumped up to nine, then it dropped down to 6 by the end of the summer.

I don't know if all schools have overlapping sessions, but it's possible to take what you're asking about. My brother took 21 credits one summer, and except for the first 2 weeks was taking at least 18 at all times.

i'd only take one class at a time... last summer I did 6 credits abroad, which was a month, then later I did calc2 (4 credits) over a 5 week period
