I am a freshman and I am going to preview in 2 weeks and I was wondering if anyone knew some great, generally easy courses to take over the summer at UF
Speaking as a student, many people recommend taking IUF 1000, “What is the Good Life?” in the summer to get it over with. It’s not hard, just a really asinine course the university requires freshmen to take. Of course, sometimes you can’t get it when registering during preview.
Pick Summer B 2017, Campus, Undergraduate and do a search. Then skim through the list of classes being offered.
The above link list a few fun classes (some are available for Summer B).
Pick out a few before you head to preview and see how they fit into your schedule.
I agree with trying to get What is the Good Life IUF1000 out of the way. Other than that, it depends on what your major is and what you need. If undecided, narrow down to a few majors that interest you and see what classes they have in common. That way, you could take a class that would give you more time to decide and still keep you on track for each major. For instance, if you didn’t take AP psychology in high school, you may find that a few majors you are considering all require it anyway. I advise against taking “First Year Florida”. Advisors seem to push that class on new students, and I haven’t heard that it’s worth it.
@NorthFLmomof2 so would you recommend into psych for someone who is considering it as a major and will need to take it anyway? I was going to wait till fall so that I got the most out of it but I guess that doesnt matter. I was also considering theatre appreciation since it’s a gen Rd.
